Virgin Casino - Online Casinos ReviewsSoftware: WagerWorks

Operating : Since 2004

Rating : Our Virgin Casino Review Rating

Overview

Like many UK casinos online, Virgin Casino comes to you backed by a brand and a business reputation that is second to none. Relatively new to the world of online casinos, Virgin Casino has been operating since 2004 using browser-based, no download software from developers, WagerWorks. This online casino software company is at the forefront of UK gambling online, powering many of our best known and most trusted gaming brands: Blue Square Casino, Gala Bingo, Gala Casino, Coral Casino, Paddy Power Casino and The Daily Mirror Casino.

Virgin Casino does not boast a huge stable of games like Microgaming’s bad boy, Spin Palace Casino, but they are not missing any of your favourites, just that they don’t have so many variants on a theme. The real beauty of this product is that it runs in your browser and requires no large downloads or frequent updating. This should appeal to those of you reluctant to download applications for security purposes or possibly those of you wanting to use a work computer to have a gamble in your lunch hour!

Read on to learn about Virgin Casino in more detail. We like this one, rat fans, we like it a lot and we think you will, too!

What sort of bonuses can you expect?

The Virgin Casino promotions team keep pretty busy by the looks of things. As a new player, you’ll be able to claim an initial 100% match deposit bonus of up to £50 but it’s the innovative incentivised bonuses on offer once you’ve become a fully-fledged real money player that make Virgin Casino stand out from the crowd.

You can opt in to the Virgin Casino newsletter which will keep you informed of the raft of bonuses available each week. As I write this review, there are at least five different bonuses for the month of October. Here’s a couple of examples:

Teriffic Tuesday : Play the Game Of The Day every Tuesday in October and you will be able to claim back 20% of any losses you might make up to £25!

Voice Your Choice Promotion: There are 20 Marks & Spencer’s vouchers available worth £50 each. Play every week at Virgin Casino in October and for every £100 wagered, you’ll get an entry into that week’s prize draw. There are no limits to the amount of entries you can have so the more you play, the more chance you have of picking up some M&S goodies!

There is almost a different bonus for every day of the week here. As the Virgin brand would suggest, these guys do their very best to keep us players happy. Current promotions are always listed in full detail on the Virgin Casino website which you can visit via any of the banners here.

Support and Customer Care

UK freephone no. : 0800 458 6003

The customer is always king, right? Well you are at Virgin Casino. You wouldn’t expect anything less from the world’s leading PR driven brand, would you? Bad customer relations means a bad press and we all know that Virgin shine in the press and have done for years and years.

You can get in touch any time… we’re here 364 days a year. We have Christmas day off. We all have to have a holiday sometime!

Taken from their customer care web page – I think one day off is just about acceptable although they could think about getting back to work once The Great Escape has finished. It’s not like there’s anything much else on the box after that!!

There is also a Getting Started section and an FAQ section on the website so you don’t have to waste yours and their time speaking/emailing unnecessarily.

Casino games on offer

As I pointed out in the Overview, Virgin Casino does not win any prizes for the quantity of casino games it offers. Ask yourselves how many games you actually play at online casinos? It’s most likely to be less than the 60 casino games available at Virgin Casino, isn’t it? No? Move on then, Muppets, and miss out on one of the best online casino experiences there is. There’s just no pleasing some people.

There are two casino game key factors critical to Virgin Casino’s continued success. Firstly, games run in your browser and load fast so no huge software downloads to slow up your playing experience or your computer! Clicking through from here to playing your first game takes only a couple of minutes, especially if you play for free!

Secondly, their software provider, WagerWorks, has obtained licences to some of the most sought after online slots titles in the market. Monopoly has long been a favourite in UK pubs and bars, the board destined to lend itself to the perfect bonus game! Add to this: Cluedo, Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy and you’ve got a strong frontline slots lineup!

That’s before you add in the many Vegas-style online slots such as Cleopatra, Wolf’s Run and Elvis-A Little More Action!

Have a spin of a few of these slots for free and see what you think. If I’m talking crap, come back here and tell me so! Your comments are always appreciated.

Parting Words

Most of you are looking for reputable online casinos that you can trust straight out of the box. Virgin Casino has parked its media-savvy arse firmly in the midst of this group and is here to stay!

i think the payouts on the slots are a lot less than other sites i play and are considering giving them a call to question this, lets see if the customer care is as good as they say

    Hi Anthony

By all means, give them a call, but Virgin do not have any direct control over the slots payout percentage at their casino. They use WagerWorks proprietary software as do other licencees and are bound by the algorithms built into this software.

You are correct that slots payout percentages do differ from casino to casino but it is the software the casino uses that controls this, not the casino itself.

Virgin Casino will not be able to comment on other casino’s payouts. If you are not happy with the results at Virgin, move on. That’s the beauty of online casinos, you have so many to choose from.

Remember to balance up the slightly lower slots payouts with the overall player experience at Virgin though. If browser-based casinos are your thing, they do this very well and their customer support and speedy payments are worth having, too.

Your grumble doesn’t really come under “Customer Care”. Their customer support staff are there to manage your account in a correct and timely manner and advise on bonus claims etc. They will not have any clue as to their payout percentages relative to other operators in the industry.

If slots are your thing, we suggest you take a look at Spin Palace Casino, a true slots specialist and an outfit we have worked with for years and can vouch for. Have a read through our Spin Palace Casino review and see what you think.

They have a flash, no download version of the casino, too. Wishing you the best of luck and a Happy New Year!

Ive been playing here for a few months now… pretty good if you ask me, payouts seem to be spot on, I just wish I didnt keep piling it back in!

  4. CSI Team says:

Show some self-restraint, Rich! Glad Virgin Casino is working for you!

  5. misscindy says:

i found their customer service terrible, compared with other ‘top’casinos, when i complained about a bonus(which i never recieved,so beware)they just kept pointing me to someone else, when, after 8 emails,i said enough is enough, sort it out, they then asked if i could send all previous mails.
nobody is interested or takes resposibility!
i deleted my account by the way, first time ever with any casino.
    be careful!

  6. CSI Team says:

Hmmm – we don’t like to hear this sort of thing. Perhaps you could email us direct, misscindy, with your account id and we will see if your complaint can be resolved.

Non payment of bonuses is THE most common player complaint but unfortunately, there is usually a valid reason for the non payment. You have to read the bonus terms & conditions very carefully before you play at any online casino to avoid misunderstandings.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Relations had broken down completely between misscindy and Virgin Casino as the player was convinced he was being scammed. I’ve had our contacts at Virgin look into this case on misscindy’s behalf and it is now resolved.

The £100 initial sign up welcome bonus wasn’t paid to this player for good reason (as we thought and suggested above) – the player had signed up with Virgin Casino in June 2007 and was therefore not a new player and NOT eligible for the £100 welcome bonus.

Virgin Casino did agree that they might have dealt with this case in a more consistent manner (the player was contacted by several customer support staff and not just the one) and have offered him the £100 welcome bonus as a goodwill gesture.

The casino was not at fault in any way but have offered this player £100 anyway. That is going the extra mile in customer service terms and exactly what we would expect from one of our partners!
